A voicemail is not for selling. It serves to make your number identifiable so the next call is answered. This nuance changes the entire writing approach.
The rules
- Twenty seconds maximum.
- First name, company, subject in one sentence.
- Number announced twice, slowly.
- No pitching, no superlatives.
- Announce the next call: "I'll try again tomorrow morning."
Three templates
First contact
Hi Claire, Paul from Vitecall. I'm calling about the organization of your outbound calls. I'll try again tomorrow morning, or call me back at [votre numéro]. I repeat: [votre numéro].
Second attempt
Hi Claire, Paul from Vitecall again. A quick question regarding your sales team. I'm sending you an SMS with my number.
Final attempt
Hi Claire, Paul from Vitecall. Last message from me: if this topic isn't current for you, I won't push. My number remains [votre numéro].
How many messages
Maximum of two in a five-attempt sequence: the first on the second attempt, the second on the last. A message for every call produces the opposite of the desired effect.
