One day, the pick-up rate collapses for no apparent reason. A flagged number is one possible cause among others: list quality, timing, or target change. Check the display before drawing a conclusion.
How a number gets flagged
- High volume of short calls, typically calls hung up before five seconds.
- Unanswered call ratio significantly higher than average.
- Manual reporting by recipients from their phone app.
- Lack of public presence associated with the number.
Check a number's status
- 1Call two mobiles of different brands and observe the display.
- 2Search for the number on reverse directories and reporting sites.
- 3Compare the line's pick-up rate to that of other team lines.
What works
- 1Limit daily volume and check reports with relevant services. Automatic rotation is not available in Vitecall.
- 2Cap the number of daily calls per line.
- 3Stop immediate hang-ups: a call that rings for one second is a negative signal.
- 4Request removal of the flag from relevant services, then let the line rest for two weeks.
- 5Publish the number on your site, associated with the company name.
Changing numbers does not exempt you from addressing the cause of flags. Respect opt-out requests and preserve the possibility of being called back.
